By Air: International arrival to PTY serviced by most major carriers. 30 min drive to local “Albrook Airport" or PAC. We can have a staff member meet you at customs to escort you between airports, or jump in an Uber or Taxi and request Albrook Airport (PAC). https://www.airpanama.com/en has multiple daily flights from PAC to BOC where we can have one of our staff members meet you to assist with navigating the few blocks to the boat docks. Otherwise, taxis will be waiting to bring you to the “water taxi dock”. From the docks let the local boat taxis know you are going to BBL, Bocas Beachfront Lodge (The Lodge on Carenero Beach/Playa). Expect a less than 5 minute ride for $2/person (excess luggage may up charge). We are located directly in front of the surf break “Black Rock” and “Old Mans”.
By Land: Driving in Panama is safe and easy with good paved roads all the way to the docks at Almirante. Use Waze to navigate and show you the numerous speed traps. There are also many public transportation options as well as private vans connecting all major tourist destinations that you can arrange at each location. In Almirante, you can find multiple options to securely park your vehicle with connection to a boat taxi. The boat taxi ride takes about 30 minutes to Bocas town.

There is a car ferry which runs 2-3 times a day yet takes several hours from Almirante to Bocas town. It is free for pedestrians. Vehicle costs vary.

Getting Around the islands of Bocas del Toro consists mostly of boat taxi. Upcharges for extra luggage or after dark is standard. Town to the Lodge starts at $2/per person. On the main island of Isla Colon, there are taxis and uber as well as e bike and atv rentals.
What to bring: Most anything can be purchased in the islands but expect to pay significantly more for things not used by locals (ie sunscreen and insect repellent, which are both very necessary!
